Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Oklahoma
if someone has physical possession of property, how long before it becomes their
There is a 1969 Pace Car Camaro with my mother's and/or my name on the title. A fully restored one recently sold for $28000. Ours is in fair original condition. She nor I know how to work on the car, paint, etc. She worked out a deal with her friend who owns a body shop that he would paint it for her in exchange for it sitting in front of his place of business for x length of time, for advertisement purposes. My problem is I wonder, is there a certain amount of time that when it sits on his property, then does it become his? "Possession is 9/10ths of the law." I had heard that, after a year, if something is physically on someone else's property, it automatically becomes theirs. If someone could answer, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

There is no such law on vehicles....your family has title and that is enough...don't leave it for a long time though. If he asks you to remove the car, then do so in a reasonable time frame or he may be able to charge you storage fees....hope this helped.
