Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Oklahoma

-Road-

If a road is concidered a private drive who does it belong to? A man who petitioned to have his address be placed on the road that runs in front of the home has placed bumps that are damaging every small car that passes. There are two other homes behind this home and one of the occupants drives a trans-am which has extensive damage due to the fact that the bumps are two high. The farthest occupant (who actually owns most of the land and has been present for 30 years) was told that it was hers but that she needed to check her easment. She is looking into it. Who has legal right to which portions of the road and if the city won't do anything what can we do to prevent having our vehicles totalled?

Re: -Road-

If the road actually belong to the land owner; which should be the case, it would be their responsbility to intitiate any repairs and maintenance. However, if it was requested and approved to be created by the city, they would have responsiblity to make these repairs. You can establish the ownership by reviewing city or county records. If no one is identified, your neighborhood residents can adopt the road for repair. Either way, if you all are experiencing damages some action must be taken soon.
