Re: lemon-lime salt

It is unlikely to harm your body anymore than regular table salt. You probably have heartburn from the citric acid in it.

Too much sodium is not good for you. It can cause swelling or even damage your kidneys if you use it regularly. If you eat too much salt, you may become dehydrated rapidly, and that could damage organs.

Also, if the brand you're eating is made in Mexico, like many of them are, you may need to worry about the product's lead content. Lead poisoning is not fun either.

Otherwise...

Lemon Lime Salt is a unique blend of chunky kosher salt with essence of lemon and lime for a snappy citrus surprise! Sprinkle on fish, poultry vegetables or salads. It's also a nice companion spice to a Mediterranean Medley. For an extra special treat, rub a wedge of fresh lime on the rim of your favorite goblet, dip in Lemon Lime salt. This zesty blend will make a memorable cocktail or Michelada that will take you back to that little cantina on a cobblestone back street in old Mexico. Ole!
