Legal Question in Immigration Law in Oklahoma
Marrying a US citizen...
I have been approved for a visa as an unmarried child under 21 through an I-130 petition. My priority date is july 2005 and the current cut off date for visas is august 2001 meaning i have to wait at this time for another 4 years. If i were to marry a us citizen in what category would that put me and how fast would i be able to adjust my status since i am approved in a different category?

Re: Marrying a US citizen...
If you entered the US with a valid visa, usually it would be very fast to adjust your status based on marriage to US citizen.
If you entered the country illegally, then it would be a complicated case.
