Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Oklahoma

Copyrighted Material

I've written software, and designed images for a community of 70,000+ members. I was an administrator until I informed the administrator I would like to take a break. He removed my administrator status. I left for 30 days for ''personal time''. I logged back into his website and he refuses to give me administrator privileges. So he basically fired me on the spot, without warning. I've asked him to send me my personal files and then removed them from the server, and he said ''Hmm delete the folder? It still has important stuff in it doesnt it?'', ''Like what?'' I replied. He told me ''Has some docs for the site and some other stuff''. He still uses my images and software I wrote. Is it possible cease him from using it?

Re: Copyrighted Material

From you question I don't know if you were an employee, or a contract programmer, or working for free. I also don't know the agreement under which you wrote software and designed images. Depending on those answers, you may or may not have any right to seek an injunction to stop the use of your work product.

For example, if you were an employee, the employer likely owns your work product; otherwise there may be an angle in which you have rights to the work product, but the answer lies in the details of your relationship with the site (or site owner).
