Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Oklahoma

Is it legal to hand make a product, such as a hat, and craft a school name, such as high school, or college team, or possibly professional teams, and sell the finished product? I've seen products like this for sell, but they say they are licensed items. What does this mean? Please help. Thank you!

No, not generally. That is usually trademark infringement. If you sell enough to get noticed you could be in for serious trouble.

As a Franchise Attorney and to amplify on the other attorney's answer, a "license" means you are given permission by the trademark owner to use their brand (name, logo, etc.) on products. Doing so without their permission subjects you to trademark infringement - never a good idea (or legal), even if you're trying to say below their radar. Consult with a good trademark or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
