Legal Question in Employment Law in Oklahoma

Issues with managment

I work for a company that outsources for a major cell phone company. Eariler this year an employee accessed my personal cell phone account to cancel it for personal reasons. He was fired and escorted out of the building. Management didn't inform me of this until a few days later. Now former employee comes back into the building at night to talk to people. When I, and other co-workers, went to management about how we felt unsafe that he was allowed back into the building we were told that he was not doing anything wrong. I informed management that I felt unsafe that he was allowed back into the building. I was told that didn't matter and no action would be taken. Along with this every time I take a paid vacation or sick day it takes several pay checks before I will get the hours. For example, I took vacation for Oct 10th. I haven't been paid for that vacation day even though two pay periods have passed. On Nov 6th-8th I was approved for paid vacation. When I came back I was told that they forgot to approve it and becasue of that I got a check for 0.00 to last me until next pay day. What can I do. This is an ongoing issue that has been happening for several months.

Re: Issues with managment

Re the ex-employee's return: there is no law forbidding an employer from allowing an ex-employee back on site. If you feel "unsafe," you should use that term in communicating with your management, and define why you feel that way. Following the meeting you should document what you told them and what they said (you should also document your prior meetings regarding this topic).

Re Mishandling Payroll: You should first keep all checks and documents regarding your time off, requests, approvals, check stubs, etc. You should communicate the issue to management, and document the conversation. You might then go to the Okla Dept of Labor and see if they could intervene or provide guidance on how to proceed.
