Legal Question in Employment Law in Oklahoma
Sex Offender checks
I have a small home health company. We run criminal background checks on all applicants. We would also like to check sex offender databases for our male applicants (of which there are very few). If we do, do we also have to check the sex offender databases for our female applicants? I might assume so but it really makes no sense.
Thanks...

Re: Sex Offender checks
It makes sense if you recognize that 1) females can be sex offenders and 2) that your patients deserve protection.
Practically speaking, it will be a MAJOR problem if you get to court and it turns up you haven't done due diligence based on preconceived notions about gender.
