Legal Question in Employment Law in Oklahoma
Terms of Employment Contract
I was given this contract and it states I must give a 4 week notice if I wish to terminate my employment. I signed and dated the document, but the employer failed to fill in the effective date. I have accepted new employment and submitted a 2 week notice to my current employer. Am I obligated to fulfill the 4 weeks?

Re: Terms of Employment Contract
If you and the employer have been operating under the contract, you're not going to be able to get out of it by claiming it's invalid because the employer failed to put in the effective date. If you leave without 4 weeks notice you could be in breach. What your employer does about it, if anything, is another matter altogether.
