Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Oklahoma

5 years ago I paid off my mother and step dad home they signed the titile over to me and put the home in my name. they continued to live in the home but since the home was in my name we put the homeowner insurance in my name also. the ins is for the dweling and all the contents. My mother passed away in may and now my stepdad has terminal cnacer and not expected to live long. my question is will the house and all the belongings go to me or just the house. I need to know what legaly will be mine.

Yes, unless a "Last Will and Testiment" was executed and signed otherwise. If possible, it is recommended that you address concern with your stepdad because that decision still rest with the owners. Particularly, if the home was purchased by your stepdad prior to the marriage. However, it appear that they have already made their decision when you entered into an agreement with them to to pay off the home; change the ownership; transfer the deed and insured all its contents. Secondly, if the ownership of the home and/or contents are contested, this would have occurred before their illnesses and/or deaths, therefore, you are the legal owner and beneficiary.
