Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Oklahoma

Abandoned Personal items and car

My daughter and this guy lived with each other for 6 yrs. They were engaged this last year. (he's black, she's white) 4 months ago she broke up with him. Since then his ''stuff'' has been stored in her garage. He also has a broken down car in her driveway. The house they lived in was paid for and bought by her. He paid rent. For the last 4 months, she has asked him repeatedly to remove them. Also, up until a wk ago she also took care of his 3 dogs because he didn't have his own home. He has his own home and it has a garage so she asked again for him to pick his things up. She has even offered to hire a mover to bring them to his house but when she mentioned this to him he said she was liable if anything happened to them. Yesterday she asked him again and he threatened her saying I do not give a f**. Do anything with my sh** and remember paybacks a bi***! And dont think I fogot how ta get ghetto! All of this is done through text msgs as he won't talk to her. I called the police and they said to call goodwill for the stuff in the garage and a wrecker for the car in her driveway and then get a VPO We don't know how to legally deal with this situation and are now worried but he needs to move on so she can also.

Re: Abandoned Personal items and car

First of all I failed to understand the need to refer to the individuals race but I will attempt to answer your concern.

If the information you provided is correct, the individual had ample time to vacate and remove his belongings, particularly, if he has been given notice.

For your protection, I would recommend that you submit this notice to quit and vacat in writing before you discard the items as you see fit.

You should also document this communication individual and hold it for your records. As long as you gave him notice to quit and vacate the premises. And, if his name is not on the lease.
