apartment lease agreement

would i be liable for the remainder of a one year lease if i gave thirty day notice before lease was up?

The answer to this question would depend on your reasons for breaking the lease agreement. In most cases you must have mitigating circumstances, including a default on the part of the Landlord or a emergency situation. Otherwise you can be held liable for the remainder of the lease agreement.

It would depend on why you are breaking the lease. It must be mitigation (unexpected) circumstances or for a default (such as failure to make repairs) by the Landlord. In such cases the lease may be broken. However, I am not able to assist without more information.
