Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Oklahoma

Being forced to not park in our own driveway on football game days

My roommates and I are renting a house , and paying quite a bit due to location are house being close to campus. The problem is our landlord has decided to use our yard as parking so he can make extra money charging people attending the college football games. What makes it worse is that he will not let us use our own parking spaces and is forcing us to park on another street and walk to our house. I was just wondering if this is legal or the if there are any laws on our side. The only thing is that he did put the part that he may park people in our yard in our lease, but it doesn't say anywhere that cant park at our own house.

Yes. This is a wrongful practice on the part of the Landlord. Particularly, if it deprives the tenants of the use of private space for parking. In fact, it situation is no different than conditions stipulated other city ordinances disallowing parking in front of private driveways. In this instance, the Landlord is making a profit while creating a deprivation so not only is this considered wrongful, it is also unethical conduct. It is also in violation of your privacy as a tenant and this imposition could cause or create other problems leading to burglary or other harm created obstructions; just in case of your need for an emergency help or departure. You may want to review city and state statutes regarding obstructed driveways.
