Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Oklahoma
Law School Applications & Bar Acceptance
Two years ago I was pulled over for a DUI(actualy I was pulled over because the officer wanted to stop me, but that's beside the point. I had consumed alcohol earlier in the night). I had the drivers license removal overturned, and after paying a fine my court record was expunged. Now I want to apply for Law School as that was my area of undergraduate study. My understanding of expungment is that only docket records are removed, butarrests records still exists unless you wait ten years and then also have them expunged. So how in depth is the Bar Associations background check? Will they only see that I have no docket records, or will they go down to the hometown sheriffs office and reqeuest them to search for any instance of my arrest? How shold I answer the questions about criminal background?

You should ask your state bar association. They have an ethics board and can answer you with a fair degree of certainty.
