Legal Question in Personal Injury in Oklahoma
car accident
In Oklahoma how long does a person have until they must settle with an insurance company for car accident with injuries? I was in a car accident that was not my fault.I suffered bruises, back pain and foot pain. no broken bones. Injuries took about 8 weeks to heal.
question 2. can an insurance company require the auto repair people to use recyled parts in repairing a vechicle?

Re: car accident
First, in Oklahoma, you have two years from the date of your accident to settle or to file your lawsuit. You really do need to get fully compensated for your injuries.
Second, you cannot be forced to use refurbished or used parts to repair your vehicle. But, in Oklahoma, property damage claims are usually settled notoriously low.
It is best to try to get the full estimate of the damage to your car from the automobile dealer where you purchased or have your car serviced. Then, take that estimate to the insurance company.
If I have a client with property damage and injury, I try to make sure that the injury settlement has an extra "bump" to compensate for the property loss that the company doesn't want to pay. That way, you get the money you need. If you can settle your injury claim for more than your injuries, you will be ahead of the situation.
If you need help, and most people do, please do not hesitate to call me.
