Car Accident Time Limitation

I was rear ended in my car approximately one year ago. I am still going through physical therapy, but the insurance company of the driver who hit me says I must submit a claim to them within one year from the date of the accident or they will close their file and I will not be able to make a claim. How much time do I have after an accident to file a claim in Oklahoma? Thank you.
