Re: Traffic Accident
Your situation is not uncommon and you may ultimately have to let a jury decide the case. When you say the "company" I am not sure you mean the company the driver works for or the insurance company. Either way it is not helpful to you, but if you have not been talking with the Insurance company, you will need to do so at some point. Their attitude could be different as far as settlement. As far as your immediate need to get repair work or medical bills paid, you may need to get your own insurance company to make payments until the entire thing works through the process. Choosing an attorney is never easy. Do you go with the guy who advertises the most on TV or who your friend used. If you have sustained very serious injuries, you will have no difficulty getting an attorney interested in handling your claim. There are special laws that apply to "common carriers" which an attorney who has not dealt with such cases might not be aware of. Therefore you need to have an attorney who has handled more than one such case in the past. Get your list of recommendations together then prune it down to 3-4 and schedule an consultation appointment. The more research you have done into the issues, the better you will be able to judge which attorney has the most knowledge and experience. It is not going to cost you anything but time to go through the consultations. If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.
