my husband left me and the house is in his name. he has no interest in the home. what do i need to do to get the house in my name?

You should file for divorce. As a part of the final decree, the court can award the home to you.

Ask your husband to sign a quit claim deed. If he has no interest and wants you to have the home, then he can sign a quit claim deed. Once he signs it, file it with the county clerk's ofice in the county where you live.

If not, you will have to go through court proceedings to divide up property - divorce or separation.
