Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Oklahoma
Is there a way to lawfully breaky my lease?
I was recently told by a friend that if your lease was not signed on the first of the month, that you could lawfully break your lease at anytime as long as you gave a 30 day notice. Is this true?

Re: Is there a way to lawfully breaky my lease?
Thank you for your question. I am not sure I understand your question. A month-to-month lease can be terminated upon thirty day notice. If you are talking about a lease for a term, such as for a year, then the lease cannot be terminated on 30 day notice. I think your friend is confusing several concepts including when a month to month lease begins. I would need to see your lease to give you specific advice.
