Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Oklahoma
I live in an apartment complex and recently my building had a plumbing problem. There is standing water on the tile in the kitchen and in both bathrooms I dont have a problem mopping it up but it's mostly sewage water and I need to buy cleaning supplies. Should my apt complex reimburse me? They are paying to clean the carpet and also said if the stench is out then they will replace it. I don't feel like I should be obligated to pay for supplies due to the apartment complexs fault. Also, in the four months I've lived here I have had to get my toilet fixed once, garbage disposal twice, and the kitchen sink once. So there has clearly been plumping issues in the past. I just need to know what I'm obligated to pay for and what they should be obligated to do.

Look at your contract. the apartment must clean and replace carpet immediately because it is health hazard. Call them and give them notice to take care of the plumbing within the week. Your contract provides the rights and obligations.
