Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Oklahoma

Real Estate obligation after Divorce

I am receiving a summons for real estate property in Oklahoma and from a previous marriage. The ex-husband is foreclosing on the property and the bank has now served me. According to the original divorce decree the ex-husband was awarded the house/property and I got a vehicle and cash. The divorce was 5 years ago and I live in Missouri now. I believed and still believe that I was exonerated from this debt. Your thoughts and advice please

I would need to review your Divorce Decree to be able to give you any advice. If your Decree orders your ex to pay the mortgage and hold you harmless, then you can prosecute a contempt action against him, to try and recover any damages you might sustain from the foreclosure.
