Roomate owes money--
I own my house and had a roommate move in woth me gave me a deposit, but had not yet signed the lease agreement but had talked about the terms she moved out less than 30 days later paid a months rent minus the deposit and has not paid that months bills yet. I am a college student and need that money so that i dont have checks bouncing because i work at a bank and one bounced checks is qulifications for a dismissal... My parents dont help that much and the $200. She owes me for bills.I need.

Thanks for your question. You can go to small claims court if you are willing to pay the filing fees and cost of serving papers on the room mate. I dont know what is owed so you will have to decide if it is worth spending the money to try to get a judgment. All you will get is a judgment if you win and then you will have to try to collect the judgment. The court doesnt do that for you. It can help you but you will have to put the effort into going back to court a few times, paying more court costs and maybe collect it. Good luck
