Involved in hit & run

A week or two ago I was in a hit & run. I was at a red light and the person came from behid and hit my car, thus totalling it out. I had only liability w/ uninsured motorist (cuz my insurance is buying my car). Also, the airbags did not deploy on the car. I can only guess the speed of the other driver (if it matters, airbags), but atleast 35-40 mph. We (witness & I) got the tag of the car and a police report was filed. My question is what can and should i do? When I asked an adjuster about what I could do I felt like she could careless about what I felt or had to say and gave me the run around on my questions. I'm just not sure what the deal is and how things go normally or as normal is. Thanks for any information!!

Yes, you can find out who it was, and they are responsible for the damages. From the description you have given, I am wondering why you are so concerned about the damage to the car only. How abou the damage to your body? Have you been to the Hospital? Have you seen a doctor?
