Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Oklahoma
general power of attorney
My father has decided to go in to resthome facility. He is competent in most ways and some not, he does understand things just some of it is confusing because of deteriating health. He is in debt with home, auotomobile and health debts. Do I have to have a legal general power of attorney or can he sign statement, with it notarized, that I am taking care of his financial business?

Re: general power of attorney
Dear Sir/Madam:
I was scanning the questions in the Oklahoma area and saw yours regarding probate and wills. I am not well versed in the area that you inquire, but you have more concerns than even you realize. I would recommend talking to a person with experience in that area. A man down the hall from me has over 30 years experience in the area and his initial consultation is free. I would recommend that you call Clifton Brown at (918) 224-6444, and tell him that Scott Tully told you to call. Good Luck.
