Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Oklahoma
I became the poa for a friend who passed away recently. He left property without a will. His mother passed away three years ago with a will naming him as her only heir which he never probated. He has two sons, one in prison and one he has had no contact with. He has a large unpaid tax bill. Since his death I have notified the banks to stop all accounts but I don't know what else to do regarding the handling of his estate. Do I contact someone with the state? I don't wish to be responsible for any further actions. Thank You.

Just decline to serve as the attorney in fact (poa). You may notify the Oklahoma Tax Commission and Internal Revenue Sercive that you are resigning or have resigned. Give each entity the last known address of the two heirs.
