Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Oklahoma

wills and adult children

I do not want to leave my home, etc. to my 34 year old son. He is unemployed and not managing his life well. What can I do in my will?

A large sum of money or the deed to my home would not be good for him to receive in one lump sum. I have considered a trust, but he is an adult. What options are available?

Re: wills and adult children

1. You have no obligation to leave him anything. 2. Adults are proper beneficiaries to a Trust. 3. You can give the house to someone now and reserve a life estate for yourself, meaning they don't get it until you pass.
