Depends on what you call easy but whether easy or difficult you need to do it. Besides a legal right to make major life decisions, such as where child will live - with you in your case, a custody order will most probably include an order for child support, meaning the father will be ordered to pay a monthly child support to you based on his income or minimum wage, whichever is greater. It will also probably include a parenting plan in which the father will be given time to spend with the child under terms you negotiate with the father or which the court will order if the two of you cannot agree. If the father has had no interaction with the child, he will be given minimum time, at least to start with. You can ask the court to order no parenting time but will need to have some good reasons. You can ask the court for supervised parenting time and any other measure you think is needed for the good of the child but, again, you will need good reasons. You need to go see a lawyer or go to the local court and ask if they have a family law help desk or whatever they may call it. They can help you fill out forms on your own or direct you to legal aid if you don't have the money to hire a lawyer.
