Legal Question in Criminal Law in Oregon
My life is in danger.The state wants me to testify in a state that I got away from my abusive and very violent boyfriend.I will not have any information towards the states case I have already done this.What can I do?

If you are in Oregon and another state is trying to subpeona you, then there are very specific rules they must comply with. If you have not received a subpeona then you are not compelled to attend a court proceeding in the other state. Even if you have received a subpoena it may not be valid unless very specific conditions have been followed. Different rules apply for State and Federal proceedings. You should seek the advice of a criminal defense lawyer who can look at any documents you may have received.
