Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Oregon

How to remove my name from timeshare property

I want to remove my name from the deed to a timeshare property my ex-husband and I own in Nevada. What steps need to be taken? Can this be handled in OR even though property is in NV?

It' not that easy. Timeshares carry with them obligations to continue making payments... think of it more along of the lines of a loan that you took out than property you've acquired.

You will need to check what the process is for terminating (selling it back to the company) or selling (to a third party).

The danger with timeshares is that they are very difficult to resell or get out of for a decent price. They're more of a consumption item than an investment.

I'm sure this is not what you wanted to read... but contact the company and/or read the contract. Figure out what it will cost you and pay the cost to get this weight of your neck.
