Legal Question in Disability Law in Oregon

Reasonable Accommodation

I'm disabled, and my driveway in front of my garage is on a slope, it makes it very difficult for me at times to get in and out of my vehicle safely without slipping and falling. Therefore I have requested in writing to the rental office that handles this property as well to the owner for a reasonable accommodation to be assigned a disabled/handicapped parking spot. My questions are: 1. Does this reasonable accommodation fall under the ADA? 2. If so, within what time frame do they legally have to comply? 3. Can they retaliate against me, such as raising my rent or giving me an eviction notice for requesting this reasonable accommodation (I am on a month to month lease)

Re: Reasonable Accommodation

Your best bet is to consult a local lawyer with experience in disability law. No, they can't evict you, but they can raise the rent according to state law without it being connected to your issue.

Why not see what they do first? If you've a state handicap permit, it shouldn't be an issue.
