Legal Question in Banking Law in Oregon
bank account for deceased
My mother passed away in February. She has money in her bank savings account and I am named in her will as her administrator for her estate. The bank will not release the money to me so I can pay her bills. What do I need to do to get this money released? It is less than $2000 and we live in Oregon.

You probably should open a small estate probate (whereby you are appointed as the personal representative), which will also take care of further claims by creditors. A probate lawyer can assist you with this.
