Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Oregon
Bankruptcy precautionary notices
I filed bankruptcy in 1995. Several precautionary notices were listed along with the creditors that had sent me to collections. Am I still obligated to pay the creditors who were listed as "precautionary notices"?

Re: Bankruptcy precautionary notices
There's no such thing as a "precautionary notice." You schedule your creditors (including those that assert they are creditors even if you disagree) and the debts are discharged. All of your debts existing as of the date of your petition are discharged, except those expressly excepted from discharge by law (certain taxes, child support, student loans, etc.) or reaffirmed.
