Bankruptcy discharge of income tax debts
Past-due state and federal income tax debts probably cannot be discharged, however there are some circumstances where they can be discharged. The analysis is rather complex, and a bankruptcy attorney in your area should be consulted to consider this and other issues, before you decide whether to file for bankruptcy relief. Your particular circumstances will affect your ability to have such a debt discharged.

Discharge of tax debts through bankruptcy
It depends on how old the tax debts are, whether extensions have been granted, and other factors.
