Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Oregon

File bankruptcy or do nothing

I am unemployed with no collateral. Left with

25K debt after "parting ways" with 10 year partner. I will get a job shortly, but at most will make 15K a year. Collectors are calling daily. Went to CCC - repayment plan would be $576 per month for 5 years!!! Any point in filing or do I wait until I start getting a paycheck or do nothing or drive off a cliff???? Thanks so much for your time. This is a wonderful thing.

Re: File bankruptcy or do nothing

Only you can decide when and if you're ready to file.

One of the best reasons is if your debt situation is

effecting your health. The laws are not getting any

better in terms of your rights, so if you are really

considering jumping off of a cliff, you may do better

to proceed now (with the filing--not the jumping!)

than to wait until after Congress has ruined the

bankruptcy code later this spring! Long live the

impeachment--it's the only thing slowing them down.

Feel free to send private e-mail for more in depth

advice.
