Closely related by consanguinity or affinity.

Closely related means a person who is realted by consanguinity or affinity, to the second degree or less. What exactly does the prior statement mean, are cousins and second cousins included or excluded for this? :)

consanguinity...

Consanguinity means related by blood or decended from a common ancestor or stock. Affinity is a connection existing as a consequence of marriage, such as between a wife and her husband's blood relations. Whether cousins are "closely related" or "to the second degree" depends on who is living and where you are counting from. Second cousins are most certainly not related by consanguinity or affinity to the second degree. First cousins are probably not.
