Legal Question in Business Law in Oregon
I co-signed for a car and I just received a letter from MINI Financial Services stating that the car I co-signed for was sold at auction and I owe the balance of $12,955.41. I never received any communication that it was going to be reposessed. Otherwise I'd have picked up the payment myself. Car was purchased in OR while both myself and the main owner lived here.I reside in OR and the person who was the main on the loan lived in CA at the time of reposession. Am I responsible for the balance even though I wasn't given the opportunity to pay and didn't know the car was in danger of reposession?
