Legal Question in Business Law in Oregon
When is an employer an employer and when can they ''fire'' contracted workers?
Company A contracts with temp agency; temp agency places in in Company A; A pays the temp agency, who then writes out my check in its name. Company A dismisses me without contacting the temp agency first. Can Company A do that? If they have the power to dismiss, aren't they the true employer? Can they fire the contracted worker unfairly and not have to be face lawsuits over unfair dismissals?

Re: When is an employer an employer and when can they ''fire'' contracted worker
You call yourself a "contracted worker," but what does your contract say about termination. That would be the governing document. Isn't the contract only with the temp agency? In which case, your complaint is with them. What agreement did you have with them?
