Legal Question in Business Law in Oregon
Interference between businesses
I was a partner in a rep firm due to take over as President. A manager, with one of our major clients, decided he didn't like me and proceeded to tell my partner I lied to him, mislead me by saying "no complaints" to my reviews, and generally threatened my partners, until they fired me for fear of losing the line and it's significant revenue. I have had trouble getting another job in this industry because of this incident.
Can the other firm single me out for harassment without valid business reasons such as poor individual sales growth? A business cannot purposely cause harm to another business' employee can they?
