Legal Question in Business Law in Oregon
Legal Recourse for Non Payment
I am an owner operator, leased to another company. I currently haul flatbed using my truck and trailer. The contract I have with the lease company states that I should receive a settlement every friday. Currently they are running about 7 weeks behind, in paying me. I wanted to know what legal recourse I had to make them catch me up to date.

Re: Legal Recourse for Non Payment
Your legal recourse would depend on the terms of your lease contract. Most contracts contain provisions for what happens when one side or the other breaches the contract.
At some point, you should have the right to refuse providing them with further services unless you are paid for the back payments.
Before taking any steps like that, you should have your contract reviewed by an attorney to determine what rights each party has.
