Legal Question in Business Law in Oregon
I live in Portland Oregon which is right on the boarder of Washington State. The city of Vancouver Washington to be exact. So a guy from Vancouver has a business buying and fixing houses in the Vancouver AND Portland Area. His business is based in Vancouver Washington but I did work for him at one of his Portland houses and now he owes me money. I want to know, Do I need to take him to Small Claims Court in Washington or in Oregon? Since the work was done in Oregon I would think that I need to file here in Oregon, but if his business is in Washington, I wonder if I might need to file there? What do I do? Thanks for your help anyone!

The easiest place to get personal jurisdiction over him would be in Clark County court.
