Legal Question in Business Law in Oregon
Marriage law
Before our divorce, my ex wife and I bought a small company. She ran it mostly, but I helped her and eventually quit my day job to work at it from home. She divorced me a few years later. The divorce papers addressed the custody of our children and the ownership of the house, but did not address the ownership of the company.
She claims that it is all hers and that I have no claim to it.
Is she correct?

Re: Marriage law
This would be determined first by the constitution and bylaws of the corporation. Did the corporation issue stock? Who owned the stock? If you owned half the stock then, you still own half the stock now.
If the constitution and bylaws are silent as to ownership, then it was a joint asset that should have been addressed in the divorce. If not, you should petition the court to reopen the case and resolve ownership of the corporation.
