Legal Question in Business Law in Oregon
I am reupholstering a chair for a client. I sent photos of the cushions via e-mail to show my progress. I get a frantic e-mail back to say I should call there is a huge problem. It turns out she wanted blue piping not brown(which is the color of the body). I asked how we were going to handle the 10 hours + I spent on the cushions and she told me it was my mistake I need to correct it for free. She told me she was "perfectly" clear that it was to be blue welt cord on the brown chair. What does that make me? That I knew that and I did it how I wanted instead?I think we should split the difference. I don't want to loose my business, but I feel like throwing the whole mess back at her and say "I'm out!"
That is approx. $200 to rip it all out and remake it in blue.I don't know what to do.

I assume that neither of you has the order in writing, specifying the color of the piping.
You can either "correct it" or just it give it back, as is to her now. If she does not pay you, you can sue her in small claims court. Can she sue you and collect anything? She would have to prove that she ordered blue piping and that she was somehow tangibly harmed by getting back brown piping. She most likely would not succeed in court.
