how hard is it to get back my rights to legally own firearm if i have a felony on my record

Under federal law you are a "prohibited person." You may never again in your lifetime possess or control a firearm, ammunition, or a dangerous weapon, explosives or body armor. The only possibility you have is to obtain a presidential pardon. The chances of getting one are less than slim.
