Property dispute

I have a title to a car in my name and a key to it but it is in my ex's possession. Do i have legal right to take the car from public property?

Re: Property dispute

You should probably re-post this question under "Family Law" or "Domestic Relations" law.

If you know, was the car awarded to your ex in the divorce, even though your name is still on the title? If so, I would think you'd at the very least be violating the court's order and be subject to sanctions or penalties if you took it, even from a public place.

If the vehicle was clearly awarded to YOU in the divorce and there haven't been any subsequent agreements about it, then why does she even have it? If you had a divorce lawyer, call THAT person first, would be my best advice, and explain the whole situation.

Good luck!
