I was gone fishing and my wife was raped 3 times by one of my friends who she thought she could trust.It was reported and she got a taped confesion out of him requested by the police department. he was arrested and put in jail.lastnight we got a phone call telling us he had been released because of lack of evidence signed by a judge. he waived his right for a speedy trial and the grand jury was suppost to be next week. they held him for a month.Where do we go from here? My wife is scared to death of him.What are our rights? can we file a cival case? we have doctor bills,perscriptions,and soon to be counciling bills, what do we do?

He can still be indicted by the upcoming Grand Jury, arrested again, and jailed again. Nearly everyone is entitled to release on bond, however. Speak to the DA and see what his intentions are.

Yes, you can also bring a civil suit, request a restraining order to keep him away, and economic recovery for your losses.
