Legal Question in Consumer Law in Oregon
auto loan contract
can a car dealership keep changing an auto loan contract after it has been signed? First they called us after we bought the car and said the bank wants more money down, so we gave more money and signed a new contract. Now, they are saying the bank won't agree to a term of 72 months and wants to change it to 60 months which will raise our monthly payment.

Re: auto loan contract
No, the dealership cannot require you to sign a new contract, if what you have already signed is indeed an auto loan. But you need to be sure about what you have signed. Is it indeed a completed auto loan, or is it just a commitment by the dealer to attempt to find financing for you?
