Does a banking company have to abide by a former banking company's contract after buying out the former banking company?
Eample: Chase buy's out WAMU, can Chase change the checking account agreements of the former WAMU customers checking accounts?

Chase can probably change the checking account agreements, because the original agreements probably allowed WAMU to change them at will, anyway. The fine print in contracts with banks now usually say that the bank can change them whenever it wants to. So read the fine print in your contract with WAMU.
