Internet Purchases and Refunds
On Feb 5, I ordered a camcorder from an Internet vendor. The website assured me that I would have my equipment shipped ''within 2 - 5 business days'' and the charge was posted immediately on my credit card. By Feb 15, I still had not received the camera. An email reply from the vendor indicated that their ''standard practice'' to wait until the funds were received in their bank before shipping.
On Feb 26, I still had not received anything and advised them that I was cancelling the order and requesting and immediate refund of the collected funds.
It's now March 10 and I still have not received a credit from the organization and they are not returning my email inquiries.
What other recourses do I have to recover my money?

Your best option is to contact your credit card company and tell them to charge back the amount of the purchase. You can contest these charges within 60 days of purchase. You need to do this in writing and each credit card company has its own procedure, sometimes it has it on the back of the billing statements or on their website.
Another option is to send the company a demand letter, via certifed mail return receipt requested, stating that they are in breach of your contact and you want a full refund, or you will file suit in 10 days.
Make sure you look over the contract to see what all the terms are, but it appears that the only terms are what was listed on the website.
Depending on the size and location of the internet vendor, you may or may not be able to file suit in Oregon to recover.
