Legal Question in Consumer Law in Oregon
two long distance phone bills monthly
My phone service is QWest. The local long distance carrier I authorized is UCN (united carriers network). I have and stil receive and pay a monthly bill from UCN for 2 years. I now have unauthoized USBI bills (on behalf of MCI/Worldcom) included in my QWest bill in the amount of $500.00 which I have not authorized. The calls are to the same phone numbers but split up between 2 carriers, UCN at 0.5 per minute and USBI at $1.71 per minute. Is there any legal course of action I can take against this fraud? Possibly a class action suit I can join? I am a self employed, small business, native american widow and cannot afford to lose my phone service as my website is my only source of income.

File a complaint at the Oregon Public Utility Commission (OPUC) against Qwest. To do so, visit http://www.puc.state.or.us/consumer/complnt/comppro.htm
