Legal Question in Consumer Law in Oregon
LP Siding
I have a court order to pay for replacement of LPsiding from a home sale in 1999. I have 5,000.00 left to pay and I will retire in May 2008 with limited income. If I can't pay the rest what can they do to me? Laura

Re: LP Siding
First of all, are you the contractor who installed this? Aside from why you're being ordered to do this (it's a done deal), since there's a judgment in place, it sounds like you'll either need to compromise the amount to get rid of the judgment or leave the judgment and deal with the consequences (it will get paid if you sell your house, if you own one, for example). The creditor may be able to give you a satisfaction of judgment if you pay him a small amount rather than nothing. You may be "judgment proof." I'd need a lot more information, especially since I don't really understand your question. At least these things come to mind, but of course consult with an attorney for advice.
